I recently came across a brief article on inclusiveness in cross-cultural mentoring that provides valuable insight into this issue.  What I liked a lot about this article is that the principles articulated by the author is consistent with a best practices approach.  You may find the article helpful. The site can be a little slow but be patient and the article will appear.
